Heather Woods

Coordinator of Music Ministry

Since 2009, Heather has led the music ministry at First Christian Church with passion and purpose. As Coordinator of Music Ministries, she plans and directs all aspects of the church’s musical programming, including the Sanctuary Choir, Jubilate Ringers, and Praise Team. Her favorite part of the job is making music with her family and the talented musicians of FCC during worship and rehearsals.

Heather holds a Master’s degree in Music Education and also serves as a school music teacher and director. She brings a wealth of musical expertise and a deep love for community music-making to every note sung and played at FCC.

At home, Heather’s life is filled with music and activity. Her husband Brian—FCC’s organist and accompanist—is her musical partner, and together they have two sons and one daughter. She loves supporting her children’s pursuits in music, dance, scouting, and sports like baseball and softball.

Heather admires many musicians across genres, but especially Beethoven for his resilience and creative brilliance despite adversity. She’s also a passionate advocate for Type 1 Diabetes awareness and education.

Fun fact: When she’s not leading music, Heather enjoys cooking and baking with her daughter—a sweet extension of her creativity and love for family.
