Explore the basic concept of worship as that which is due God, and move from this to acts and meanings that come from this concept.  Develop methods of public worship of the church including special worship services.  Provide for the church’s pulpit supply, the administration of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, music, ushering, offering, and the encouragement of the devotional life among individual members and families of the church.

The Meaning and Purpose of Worship

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength." (Mark 12:30) Heart worship means we have chosen to worship. Soul worship means expressing our deepest feelings for God. Mind worship means pondering the great mysteries of God. Strength worship means worshiping with bowed heads, raised voices, and eyes and ears that feast on the holiness of God. To cover all four elements for a complete worship experience, we converge many different traditions and styles into each service we share together.

The convergence of different styles enables more people to worship God in ways that represent their love for God, "based on the background and personality God gave each of us." This is important because God is calling us to be a Christ-centered community where all are unconditionally loved, accepted, and respected. We can appreciate our differences as we journey together on a pilgrimage that makes us one with Christ and one with each other.

Sunday Worship - 10:30 AM

Disciples congregations celebrate the Lord's Supper every Sunday. The table is open. That means that all Christians are invited to respond to Christ's invitation to draw closer to Him around the communion table.

Our service is scripture based on a theme and all the elements of the service support that theme throughout.  One or all of our music groups (Chancel Choir, Bells, Praise Band) might perform on a given Sunday and lay people will also be involved in the service. Our Praise Band, "Debtors No More", is a powerful addition to our Worship Service.
